Let's see, last entry in July 2009...August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April...now May.

Nine months! I've travelled to places I've never set foot on, exciting places like Tasmania (January), Paris (this month!!!), bought many new dresses in this period (9 months!!!), moved house, got myself an Apple desktop and an iPhone, and on top of that, I have been snapping pictures for this blog and been dreaming about updating it!!!

Here goes, in no particular order...

Experimented with new make-up, the Chinese doll? Shanghai in the 1920s, hair was a bit of a fused 60s and 20s feel...done by none other than Sam @ A Cut Above in Bangsar Shopping Centre.

All this extreme back-combing is taking a toll on me, mentally...seeing all that hair that came away with the washing and combing my hair slowly into place, painfully - I decided I need to consider some serious alternatives to style my hair for performances. My man suggested cutting my hair real short and keep a collection of wicked wigs for my performances (!!!!). I will start shopping and sourcing for hair pieces I could buy to reduce all that madness styling with my guy at A Cut Above. Each time Sam performs stunt-work on my hair half of the salon population stand behind him and watch him build yet another tower/bungalow on my head.
As for making-up my own face, it's a continuous and slightly frustrating process but fun at the same time...I like to think that I'm getting better all the time :)

This is a safe look for performance but I wonder what other hot siren look I could try my hands on...any idea?

Sep 16, teasing a laugh from my teary soprano friend Sook Siak, at her wedding lunch. She was to move her work from KL back to home town Johore with her hubby...hence the reluctant goodbyes. She looked like a possible Contessa for Mozart's Figaro, I was wearing an old dress bought from flea market at least four years ago.

Speaking of celebrations, I had the honour to attend Mia Palencia's birthday do at the Attic back in early September where I met with Tria Aziz for the first time since I last saw her during M! The Opera's curtain call.

I love what she wore that day...simply brilliant!
and of course she was her usual goofy self, never taking herself too seriously though looking seriously chic.

Dinner with Seeming that evening after one of my rare auditions...no, of course I didn't audition in those sneakers. My debut show-off of this new dress I got from Scoop (label - Forever 21).
I love the details of the dress material
was feeling creative that day on the way to my rehearsal...the sweat pants I wore (some stores from Singapore) were on the loose side if I wore them low on my waist so I tried this look, hiked them up all the way to make like an empire cut, with my most versatile belt of the moment.

Impulsive shopping before goin to a show, didn't get those heels though they were absoooolutely gorgoeus!!! Go to MOOie (3-1, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar Baru) and get those, they only have less than 20 pairs! I got myself a silky GREY (totally refreshing from seas of black dresses I have) halter dress, totally chic n unpredictable, will show picture soon.

Fashion at the magic show of...

Last night the Flute concert opened at KLPAC.

The Three Ladies, Dixia, Mei Ling and myself, spotting the butterflies masks and diamante earrings I bought from flea markets. (make up and hair done by Lee Geok Wah)
The Queen Of The Night (Tan Sin Sim) wore one of my favourite masks...bought in Stanley's Market in HK if I remember correctly...next to her is James Long trying on his so called grim version of Papageno.

Fresh from gym, went to catch the last day of film fest. Tunic from Marni, leggings from E-Base, flea market belts and necklace, the slippers got rave reviews. A girl approached in the public toilet later to ask me where I got my slippers from.
I bought them from the Singapore China Town market from a Pakistani owner, for 5 Sing Dollars each pair...yes, I have two pairs of these, slightly different colors

Finally, from years of sketching my daily wardrobe on papers...to this! This site is dedicated to documenting each stylish moment in my life, and sharing of stylish people I meet day to day. I will feature on this site, these friends, or strangers, and my fashion dairy.

An intro

Documenting my favourite styles, fashion combos, brilliant ideas...

I started out (I think) in college where it was the first time in my life where I get to choose what I want to wear everyday, no more uniforms and white canvas shoes -- where it was certainly a real joy to dress for myself, it is also at the same time, an assignment that requires thinking and TIME to achieve the task of dressing up myself.

So I thought to myself why not put down all the good ideas that are there...right up there in my brain, on paper, for future reference, etc.

I started sketching and drawing what I wore on the days I liked my styling ideas, on A4 size papers. I would have collected enough for a thick coffee table book if I still have all those papers with me today.

Time passed and the habit of sketching slowly fade into the background while other activities start to fill up my time....work, auditions, rehearsals, networking, singing, magazine shoots, etc. One thing remain all these years, my passion in styling.

I guess you can call it a...gift? Styling is something I do without thinking, the `oh-I-just-open-the-closet-and-throw-these-on' happens only a few times in my life. Even a combo I put on myself in 5 minutes is a result of a fashion idea...it's never `just tee shirts and jeans' for me. I'd style even a tee and jeans, the right cut of jeans for that tee with the right material, for that particular moment.

To other people it might sound like such tiresome life I lead...to me it's an endless joyride.
